Amazing to think that the man who wrote this was actually a pianist, not a guitarist. The guitar in this arrangement is a bit of an afterthought I think, but it's interesting nevertheless.

Over 60 years ago, and I can smell Grandma's favourite perfume, hear the crackling of the fire, and feel her arms around me. The tears are running down my cheeks as I type...

I always knew it as Elizabethan Serenade, thinking it was from the earlier Elizabeth, and not knowing about music at the time. I think maybe in the 15 to 16 hundreds this was not possible with instruments of the time. I was on my iPad and this tune I kept humming, looked it up on RUclips and played the arrangement by Mantovani I remember on the radio in UK in the 1950’s.
